About The Shoebox Scanner
Like a lot of families, mine kept our memories tucked away in old shoeboxes, albums, and drawers. Every time we opened them, we weren’t just looking at photos… we were stepping back into birthdays, backyard cookouts, first days of school, and the faces of people we still miss. Those moments mattered then, and they matter even more now.

But as the years passed, I watched those photos fade. Colors softened, edges curled, and some images nearly disappeared. That’s when I realized something important: memories don’t last forever unless someone takes the time to preserve them.

So I started doing just that.

Today, I run The Shoebox Scanner from my home here in Wheaton, helping families gently bring their past into the digital age. This isn’t a big company. There’s no warehouse, no conveyor belts, no outsourcing. It’s just me — carefully scanning each photo by hand, restoring what time has worn down, and treating every memory like it came from my own family’s collection.

Older adults and their families trust this service because it’s personal. I take the time to listen to the stories behind the photos. I handle every print, slide, and tape with patience and respect. And I make the process simple, comfortable, and reassuring — especially for those who aren’t tech‑savvy.

At The Shoebox Scanner, I believe every family deserves to hold onto the moments that shaped them. One photo at a time. One story at a time. Preserved with care so they can be shared for generations. If you have a box of memories waiting to be rediscovered, I’d be honored to help bring them back to life.
